Last Friday, Rukararwe hosted a Youth Day, bringing together many young people from the local area. It was a great opportunity to learn new things, have fun, and make friends. The day was centered around the motto ‘Elevate your skills, empower your future.’ The focus was on teaching the youth skills they can use in the future to achieve their personal and professional goals.

The day started with a liquid soap-making workshop, and everyone got to take home a bottle of their own handmade soap. This was followed by a tour of the forest, tree nursery, and herbal clinic, where the participants learned about the environment, tree planting, and traditional medicine.

After everyone enjoyed lunch together, the program continued with two workshops. In the baking workshop, the group learned how to make cookies and daddies, while the crafting workshop gave them the chance to create their own jewelry out of paper-beads.

A special highlight of the day was a performance by Sosolya, a music and dance group from Kampala, which brought a lot of energy and shared cultural traditions. Speeches were given, and everyone received a participation certificate.

At the end of the day, we all enjoyed the baked treats while chatting about the experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful – a fantastic day for everyone came to an end.

We thank all participants and contributors for this wonderful Youth Day and hope to have more events like this soon!
