On Friday, March 14th, we launched our new painting project with a painting event. Everyone who was interested was invited to join, and the response was overwhelming—around 30 people came together to get creative. The theme was Painting for Nature, as raising awareness about environmental conservation is an important focus for Rukararwe and doing so through art makes the subject both meaningful and enjoyable. Participants could paint anything related to the environment, nature and sustainability.
We provided all the necessary materials, including paint, brushes and canvases, so that everyone could dive straight into their creative process. The participants were full of ideas and it was great to see how differently everyone interpreted the theme. Some painted landscapes, others focused on animals, plants, or abstract environmental concepts. It didn’t matter whether someone had painted before or was trying it for the first time—everyone got involved and enjoyed the process.

The atmosphere was relaxed and inspiring. Sitting outside under the sun, they painted, talked, laughed and listened to music. It was a wonderful experience to see so much creativity and passion come to life.

As the day came to an end, we gathered around a campfire for a discussion on environmental protection. Sharing thoughts and ideas in this cozy setting, accompanied by popcorn, was the perfect way to wrap up an inspiring event.

This event was just the beginning. We plan to organize more painting sessions in the future and start a painting club, where people can come together regularly to create, learn from each other and explore new techniques. We’re looking forward to seeing what’s next!
Stay tuned for upcoming events and join us in Painting for Nature!
